I was sad to see TRADER JOES was closed, though I am glad they took the Holiday, of New Year's.
Every time I go there, (in West Los Angeles), there's some chick harping about "GAY MARRIAGE".
I leave with my little bag of burritos and cheap water, and I walk by either "her" or "him" (it varies) ...
and I think, "what the fuck, dude! I am LIBERAL !! But I DO NOT BELIEVE in you non productive, no-child-bearing, riduculous wanna-be 'married'
Bullshit Lesbian Homo Married Prop 8 Losersz!!"
Yeah, I'm a Jerk.
Then I think, "Give the little girls a Wedding". Who can refuse them that?

But as my friend PABLO says: "Just wait til they're 35 and want a REAL DICK, ask 'em about 'BEING GAY'.

Then, this morning, I wrote Katrina on Facebook. Being "Isis O Isis", I made it very difficult for former friends to find me.

For this year, THE GREAT AND MIGHTY 2010, I would highly suggest
you watch the following video, so graciously sent to me by a friend on Facebook.
Simultaneously to this, I discovered a Screenplay Company
sent to me via a friend of a friend who has been a publisher of an underground newspaper, is currently a photographer for Reuters,
has an apartment in Mexico City and also has written a non-fiction book on Child Labor Around the World.
I see the GREAT AND MIGHTY 2010 is already at work.
The Screenplay Company is called: VIRTUAL PITCH
The concept is very simple: Sign up for $50 and send out 5 query letters to agencies such as UNITED TALENT AGENCY, the Donners (as in "Speed"),
DISNEY or smaller agencies with specifics such as "Horror", "Superhero", "Family Oriented", etc.
I mentioned FACILITATORS because some bright person (with connections),
realized the System of Hollywood as it is is Not Working.
I personally have experienced from such Renowned and Famous Producers as Erwin Stoff
a simple letter that says: "We do not accept unsolicited materials. Period."
It wasn't rude, that's just the Way it's Always Been Done.
However, during a Recession, someone thought, "How can we actually find new talent,
while still making money?"
Ah, and some people laughed at Mark Zuckerberg who created FACEBOOK....
Well, because MySpace had total market dominance.
TSK. TSK.
I love people who do things that positively affect the masses.
As for VIRTUAL PITCH, I am sure the Agent gets a cut (nominally),
but more importantly, there's the aspect of "Professional Participation" of finding new talent in an innovative way.
I think it's kind of like when the Internet started and even small Mom and Pop Businesses got "a website". Why?
PARTICIPATION.
Then I got to thinking, MY FAMILY is like this. For those who don't know,
they buy walnuts, almonds, pistachios, etc. from over 200 farmers across California,
process them and then sell them to such places as THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY, KROGER, RALPHS (if you happen to be in Los Angeles)
and the U.S. MILITARY.
Where would these farmers be without my family?
How does a farmer get his product from the field to Iraq?
BECAUSE OF FACILITATORS.

Lately I have thought about leaving LOS ANGELES. It's kind of boring to me.
In fact, I have been thinking about moving from L.A. to work at a DAIRY.
That's right: COWS.

My mother was from a Dairy, and as you know, I am an ANCESTOR WORSHIPPER.

I watched ZATOICHI with my brother this Christmas.
It's a really good movie, actually, a Japanese Franchise.
But I will say, after much debate with my brother (who is a Genius),
I am perplexed as to WHY Americans want to "remake" (only for money) Japanese films.
I mean, would you laugh at people who want to "remake" (in 50 years) THE MATRIX?
Anyway.......... everyone is entitled to Their Opinion.

I think I will move closer to my nieces, because I Miss Them....

Pablo sent me this video, to make me feel better.
I am so sad over my friend, Drea, who I found out died from Menangitis, suddenly.
And, unbelievably, while I was crying about Drea,
my brother called and said one of my highschool friends, Peppino Primavera, also 40, just died from Leukemia.
BEAUTIFUL DREA
I just found out today that one of my friends in Austin has died.
ANDREA BURDEN.
The details are still unclear to me, as I have lost touch with so many of my old friends ....
for reasons that I am sure even I don't understand.
Drea was one of the ABSOLUTELY MOST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE -- in every way -- that I've ever met.
I am in shock, and saddened for her family and two young children.
She was a gifted artist. I admired her so much.
I wish that I had the money to donate to her family, as my "Million Dollar Lawsuit", (though it cost me nothing, since I represented myself),
also didn't result in any money for me. That was never the intention anyway.
Her Memorial Service is on Sunday, December 13th in Austin ...
I wish I could go and reconnect with those friends.

It's good to have "closure" on things.
This would mark the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of me trying to get Keanu my script.
I guess the idea of playing JOAQUIN PHOENIX'S BROTHER in an anti-drug movie
... with COURTNEY LOVE as his sister-in-law ...
Didn't get anyone thinking about RIVER PHOENIX or KURT COBAIN.
As I said, it's good to have closure on things.

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE
The dimensions of this canvas is called "The Magical Rectangle".
That is to say, it is twice as long as it is tall.
Last night, I took it out and told PABLO, "I wanna paint a Buffalo for my father for Christmas."
I sat there looking at this empty canvas, and was imagining red and orange with some Gold Leaf.
Then Pablo takes out his charcoals and sketches this Buffalo (without looking at a picture, I was pretty impressed).
Then, he draws this SPACESHIP and I started laughing hysterically.
He says, "I'm still not sure about this whole 2012 thing, but if it happens, I'll be ready."
It got me thinking about the strange juxtaposition of a Buffalo and Aliens.... and the shocked look in the Buffalo's eye.
Ah, Pablo.

TENAYA
My Father wants TENAYA LODGE to be a "Tradition" every year for our family.
We've gone for 3 or 4 Thanksgivings, being about an hour and a half from Yosemite.
There's one particular family from L.A. that has been coming up to Tenaya for 10 years,
who have such a large Presence that we immediately remembered them.
"DR. FLICKER" is a Psycho-Analyst, and is the Patriarch of his large family. They're all Jewish, and from Westwood.
We sang Adam Sandler Hannukah Songs ("It's FUN-UKAH !") and I told him I need help,
which cracked him up.
His daughter brings up Knitting every year, and has inspired me to learn,
though I prefer to Crochet. There are some lovely Knitting patterns.

She just started Kindergarden this fall, and she said she "loves it".
Her Christmas Request is a "little pink IPod and an alarm clock." Very practical.
My father and brother are watching the DALLAS COWBOYS game, my fav.
My parents have been married for 43 years, aren't they cute.
As my Mother says, "Ten years of Married Bliss."

SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY
Tomorrow I am going back to my family's house.
My family is heading to the TENAYA LODGE in Yosemite for Thanksgiving.
We do this most every year.
They have Ice-Sculptures of Indians at the Buffet Table, next to an Ice-Turkey.
Both of which are symbolically "dead", though only a cynic would mention that fact.
It's interesting to me how we have "token" references to Things Long Past,
though I do appreciate the Effort Of Remembering.
I don't point fingers, because, at Whom?
CHIEF TENAYA, the last Great Chief of the YOSEMITE VALLEY INDIANS, lived in A Beautiful Place.
"Yosemite" disputedly means, "Place of Killers", though I think this could be based on the Intensity of the Location.
Chief Tenaya was stoned to death in a dispute over stolen horses, after trying to broker an Agreement with the U.S. Government.
There are no Existing Photos of CHIEF TENAYA, but the Valley is still the same.

HAND WARMERS
I made these HAND WARMERS for my nieces.
It gets pretty cold in CALIFORNIA ... these are the Perfect Xmas Gifts for people short on cash
and who want to impress little kids.
Here is a picture of me below, with a couple other projects I've worked on.
First of all, the hat (pattern below), which I crocheted right after Xmas last year.
I really love this hat, I have gotten compliments from everyone (!) who sees it.
I have crocheted about 20 hats, this By Far being my favorite.
I actually made this whole outfit - pants, top. etc.
The Scarf I made as the "beginning" of an Afghan, then I said, "What the fuck?!"
and turned it into a scarf, with copious Fringe. I love it.
I recently made PABLO a hat, after being disgusted about not having a MILLION DOLLAR SCREENPLAY DEAL,
so that I can buy a little farm somewhere in the woods and have my Animals.
He likes it, wears it all the time (It looks like a Cat Hat).
I noticed, last time I saw His Royal HIghness Keanu, that he's wearing the same old grey Cashmere scarf.
He really needs an Upgrade, but if I sent anything cooler to any of his "People",
it would end up in some crappy apartment in North Hollywood rented by a $400 a week "assistant".

I have very Intense dreams. Sometimes, they’re Waking.
For example, in April this year, I was listening to alice in chains over and over,
which roughly coincides with my friend Erik (now “LATHAN”) becoming the lead of GET BORN AGAIN, the Biopic of A.I.C.
I credit this to being somehow “subliminally” aware of My Surroundings and / or my Friends.

Yesterday, I went downtown to L.A.'s CHINATOWN,
and bought these two Parasols for my nieces.
I'm pretty sure they don't check my website, being only 3 and 5 years old,
so I thought I'd share this idea with other people who have little girls in their lives.
Also, I'm a big fan of MADMEN, so I bought this DVD for my dad.
He used to look a lot like Don Draper and my mother looked like his wife, except she doesn't chain-smoke and my father isn't a philanderer.
All of this Christmas planning only serves to REMIND ME that it has been ONE YEAR since I sent my script to Keanu et.al,
and thinking back on HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE MAILED IT to various people.
The only thing I've been thinking in my Strange Mind is that ever since I stopped caring and started having fun,
I feel that I have made more progress getting it read than when I was really trying.

It was really fun, you know the whole separating "curds and whey" ...
In fact, I am planning to do this Project with my nieces when I see them next.
You have to have RAW MILK for real cheese-making. So, I investigated and found this place called "Organic Pastures",
which sells to Whole Foods in L.A.
It turns out this Dairy is 8 miles from my parent's house, in a place called "Raisin City", where my mother grew up.
She also grew up on a Dairy...........so you can see that the Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree, as they say.
Here is me sailing this Sunday. This is quite possibly the Most accurate picture of me, as far as my TruePersonality.

HALLOWEEN
Above is a picture of me with my family in 2008.
The Reason I'm posting this photo again, is because I realize How Much Has Changed in 1 Year.
Maybe you can ponder a few events for yourself.
Being "dressed as a Witch" last year seems to have brought quite a few changes.
As for my costume this year, I'm not putting it up right away, mainly because I wanted to consider some things.
I noticed that HEIDI KLUM at her "big" soiree in Hollywood, dressed up as a raven.
I saw her costume and actually had to avert my eyes, as Black Birds are very Bad Omens and I would NEVER dress like that,
as they portend DEATH.
Well, it was the "Summer of Celebrity Deaths", so I suppose it has some relevance. At least she didn't dress up like a CROW.
There's only One Thing that makes me stop dead in my tracks, and that's finding a Crow Feather.
I'm sure you all remember BRANDON LEE. That's part of the MYSTERY of CROWS.
It's mentioned in my script. As Part of the "Transformation" of GRACE.
Anyway, here's a 3-Part Vid of the entire VINYL REVENGE show on Friday.
Pablo did an great job with a drum kit for an 8 year-old. I said, "What's with the drums? Where are they?"
"I have to improvise," he said.
Then, at 10:00pm, when the show was supposed to start, no one was there.
Jeremy, who has toured with some band or something, was totally pissed off and moody.
Josh said, "I have a flight to New York tomorrow morning," and didn't really care.
Anastasia drank another Tecate and told me she'd been taking Zanex all day for anxiety.
Pablo just started drumming on the cement floor and told Jeremy, "Hey, our next show is at the HOLLYWOOD BOWL".
I went outside to smoke a cigarette and saw the cops busting a car for having (gasp!) Cocaine in Hollywood on Halloween.
Three people got arrested, including "the girl".
Then, like 40 Theater People in Full Costumes showed up all at once, and everyone was happy.
After VINYL REVENGE, this other band called PISTOL PISTOL (who owned the drum kit) came on,
and the guitar player couldn't get his Amp right, all through the first 10 minutes of a 20 minute slot.
He kept stopping the music, kind of Self-Importantly and being Musician-Esque in his frustration.
I wouldn't be so bitchy, except he'd already mentioned outside about having a "$1000 Amp"
while the cops were busting the Snowflakes.
When they started playing and he was acting like such a Prima Donna, I was like, "What the fuck?",
and then he says, "I just bought this Amp for a thousand dollars at Guitar Center."
Pablo, who was sitting next to me in the front row says -- very loudly --
"Who buys a thousand dollar amp when you can get one for 50 bucks on the street?"
Ah, musicians.
LATER, we went to the AQUA LOUNGE in Beverly Hills and took all our Tecate.
The drummer from PISTOL PISTOL (who kept the whole band going during the drama) was there and Pablo gave him a beer.
Drummers...........they always find each other...........and always become friends.

Saturday was one of the best BURNING MAN PARTIES I've been to.
Even in my ******** mind-state, I had to dig out my FLIP VIDEO camera and film these Bad-Ass DJ's for a second.
I was CONVINCED the dude with the glowing white hair was an Alien, because of the music and how he moved.
Like really long-fingered and slow and methodical and creepy, but cool.
